Modica Città Presepe

This presepe, now 13 metres long, shows Modica as it was in the late 19th century. It started as a single piece with the clock tower and San Pietro, and over the years it has grown to take in all of Corso Umberto. Built of polystyrene, wood and bits of whatever I can find, (from toilet rolls to shampoo bottles) the presepe was displayed for 4 years in the church of San Pietro. Since Covid, it’s been difficult to find a home for the presepe, but hopefully this will be resolved soon.
